Summer Sonshine

Summer Sonshine - Carla Anne Coroy - picture of sunny road in woods with Psalms bible reference your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path

I love the sunshine! It seems the older I get the more directly the sunshine affects my moods and my ability to want to stay out of bed.

It’s beautiful here!

Here in my part of the world we’ve been having warm sunshiny days.

The other day it was just beautiful. I went for a walk, enjoying the lovely fresh air and the so far mostly bug free nature.

The light from the sun makes me feel like all’s well with the world.

That much is true in my spiritual life as well. The Light from the Son actually does ensure that all’s well with the world. That doesn’t mean that nothing in the world is going wrong… it means that even the mucky parts are not out of reach of the Light of God or out of His control.

This summer I want to make a point to really dig into a few short books of the Bible.

I want to soak in them. In the last few years I’ve been reading through the Bible. But this summer I want to stop and hang out in a book for more than just a few days or weeks. I think I’ll pick one New Testament and one Old Testament book.

My experience tells me that if I want ‘Sonshine’ in my life the best thing I can do is spend time in His Word. I need His light in the parts of my world that seem a little out of control today.

It really is amazing how much difference the Light of the Son makes in my day. His Word truly is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105) I hope you experience His Sonshine today.

Great post, Carla. I have been in the minor prophets for awhile now. Lots of Light!
